The Top Tips For Your Everyday Essential Hand & Nail Care In Australia.

For the vast majority of us here in Australia, a visit to the beauty salon for a much-needed manicure is certainly a treat and only happens once in a while. Your hands are one of the most important parts of your body because not only do they allow you to do your day-to-day things but they are one of the first things that people look at when they meet you for the first time. In a business capacity, you always extend your hand for the business handshake and people will judge you immediately based on this. From a social and day-to-day point of view, how you take care of your hands can be a direct reflection on how you take care of the rest of your body.

If we have learned anything coming out of the pandemic that we went through over the past three years, it is the need to keep germs and bacteria at a minimum so your hands are touching everything every single day and there are many opportunities for these bacteria to find a home under your nails and on your hands. What we need to do is to come up with a routine that we can do at home and using things like cuticle oil and other beauty products can help this to be much easier. The following are just some of the top tips for everyday essential hand and nail care.

  • Be sure to wash your hands – This may seem to be simple advice but it is more important than you think. Just washing them briefly under the tap for five seconds isn’t enough and you need to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. Make sure you that you use suitable soap that will kill any bacteria and germs that might be in and under your nails at any given time. Rather than rubbing your hands dry with a coarse towel, try patting them dry instead.
  • Apply some moisturiser – This is advice for both men and women and especially people who are in the sales profession and who use their hands to demonstrate products and services every single day. Every time that you wash your hands, you remove some of the oils that are protecting your hands naturally and so moisturising is essential if you want to keep your hands soft and healthy.
  • Wear gloves when necessary – Some Australians just don’t take the time to put on a pair of gloves when they are doing things around the house like washing the dishes or unloading the dishwasher. For those that like to spend time in the garden, you should wear gloves as well to protect your hands at all times from chemicals and from thorns and stinging plants.

Always try to keep your nails short whenever possible but this may present a problem for some of the ladies out there. Remember, however, that you can put false nails on when you are going out on the weekends.
